Melissa Morse

Melissa Morse has been dancing since she was 3. For many years Melissa was also a lead dancer in the West Coast Dance Project and is a sought after jazz dancer in area dance events. She has studied with many esteemed choreographers such as Jerri Houlihan, David Storey, Luigi, Juan Sanchez and Mia Michaels. Melissa has competed in regional and national competitions winning numerous awards and scholarships for her dancing.

Her choreography has won numerous awards at competitions and has been invited to compete nationally. A solo, which she choreographed for a Miss Florida contestant, earned the title of "Best Talent" in 2003. Melissa is also a favorite teacher during the summer, specializing in Jazz Intensives for the advanced dancer. As a local performer, Melissa has had the opportunity to travel to the Florida Dance Festival Gala in Tampa for 3 years and through the Sarasota School System with the WCDP's rendition of Peter and the Wolf.

Melissa attended the University of Florida where she continued dancing while earning her degree. She was a lead dancer and choreographer for Floridance, the resident dance company at the University of Florida.

She also gave and judged auditions for Extreme Dance Company, another student run dance company at the university. Melissa is thrilled to be a part of the Zero Gravity staff and is looking forward to a great season of sharing her love of dance with the students of Zero Gravity.
