LaMichael Leonard

LaMichael Leonard attended SUNY Purchase in New York on scholarship. While studying in New York, he worked with such artists as Keven Wynn, ballet master Betti-Jane Sills, Alexander Prioa and Richard Cook, the former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. LaMichael also teaches master classes in and out of the Tampa Bay area. He was commissioned to create two new works for Booker High School's Dance Department in 2001. He was also the featured choreographer for both winter and spring dance Concerts, where he premiered two new works.

The following year, LaMichael attended Miami's New World School of the Arts on scholarship. During his stay at New World School of the Arts, he worked with many amazing artists. Some of them include Peter London, former principal dancer with Martha Graham and Jose Limon, and Bambi Anderson, former principal dancer with Jose Limon and Robert Battle. He was specially selected to dance the soloist role of "Captain" in the Donald McKayle's classic work, Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder. LaMichael is currently touring with the prestigious Martha Graham Company.
