Jamie Davis relocated from South Carolina where she taught dance to children and young adults ages 7 to 18. Jamie was awarded several Top Teacher and Choreography Awards in the competitive circuit of dance during her tenure at Southern Strutt Dance Studio. Prior to becoming a teacher Jamie danced competitively for 10 years where she traveled across the country working with choreographers such as Liz Imperio, Ray Leeper, and Mandy Moore. Jamie performed as part of a choreographers review in New York City on behalf of Dee Caspery and has had the opportunity to compete for several national titles.
From June 2002 to May of 2005, Jamie worked at Southern Strutt where she taught and trained students in all forms of dance. Jamie spent hours working closely with children in the class room and fully understands what is necessary to make a well rounded dancer. She choreographed and composed nationally competitive level dances, as well as prepared students ages 7 - 18 for regional competitions and most importantly, motivated and led teen development. Jamie has changed children’s lives and impacted them in an extremely positive way through her innovative approach to dance.
Although dance is her passion, Jamie is also working toward a career in Alternative Medicine. She has a vast array of knowledge in nutrition and exercise which she also plans on passing on to the dancers. She is currently studying at the Everglades University in Sarasota, Florida, to earn her Bachelor of Science degree.
We are so proud to have Jamie on our staff. She will be teaching jazz, lyrical and contemporary in our ZG Pro level classes, as well as acrobatics and tap. Jamie is dedicated to sharing the love of dance with children and is very excited to start her journey with ZGD.
